Business Advocate of the Year
The 2023 Business Advocate of the Year award from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, with a note on what the work actually is.
The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce named me 2023 Business Advocate of the Year. The line on the award itself is short. The line under it — what the work actually is — is longer, and worth writing down somewhere a search engine can find it.
In a county like Montgomery, the difference between a project that gets built and a project that doesn't is rarely the building or the deal. It is, much more often, ten or fifteen public meetings, two or three sector-plan rewrites, and a willingness to keep showing up to argue that the math at the policy level — for housing, for life-sciences employment, for transit-oriented density — has to add up. That's the work.
